"Urban Uses" Policy Report On June 16, 2005 the NEC adopted a policy respecting the definition of "urban uses" for the administration of the Plan Amendment process under 6.1 of the NEPDA. No person or public body may request an Amendment to the NEP for an "urban use" until 2015, at which time the Minister may include the consideration of such uses in the terms of reference for the Plan Review.

Initial Staff Report

To amend the Niagara Escarpment Plan from Escarpment Rural Area to Mineral Resource Extraction Area on part of Lots 25, 26, 27 and 28, Concession 10 Township of Georgian Bluffs, County of Grey as shown on Schedule A to permit a below water table quarry; and to permit a redi-mix concrete plant and an asphalt plant as an exception to the permitted uses of the Mineral Resource Extraction Area designation.  The remaining lands shown on Schedule A now designated Escarpment Natural Area will not be changed by this amendment and a portion of the lands designated Escarpment Rural Area will continue to be designated Escarpment Rural Area to form the buffer areas.
